Talent-IT is looking for a System Administrator/Build Engineer

Job summary
This role is a combination of development and system administration. You have experience with different platforms (UNIX, LINUX, Windows), XML-based content management (DITA/XML/XSLT), as well as source code and build management systems (SVN, SourceForge, Hudson, Maven...). You like to work with a wide range of users and you are comfortable writing scripts, administering a system and participating in business requirements.

 

Main responsibilities:

• Manage DITA compliance and standards for content in the CMS, working with content creators at multiple sites and across business functions; troubleshoot and manage issues and programs related to the CMS.
• Create and/or edit publishing stylesheets for a variety of content outputs and workflows, including documentation and translations; create and manage CMS scripts.
• Administer and support builds and source management systems, including local and remote Subversion (SVN) repositories and Collabnet SourceForge Enterprise (Team Forge).
• Work with business analysts, project managers, and internal end users to scope and design the configuration of new systems and upgrades to existing systems.
• Interface with local vendors and 3rd Party support providers.
• Participate in online communities and lead best practices related to content management, system management and development support.
• Recommend process improvements and workflow optimization based on industry standards.

• Degree: Bachelor or Master Degree or equivalent by experience.
• Experience: 3 years
• Languages: English
• IT-knowledge: Java, Dita,SVN, Rational ClearCase, Rational RequisitePro, Linux, Unix, Hudson, Maven,EMC Docato, CollabNet TeamForge, HP Quality Center
• Technical skills: 3 years experience working with XML-based content management, including DITA structuring and compliance, XSLT(Saxon preferred); XPath and XSL-FO and ANT scripts Experience with DITA OT Publishing pipeline, and content management systems (CMS) Experience with UNIX and Linux systems Development experience, specifically with Perl and Shell scripts, and with JAVA Experience with build and software configuration management, source management Preference given to candidates with experience on the following systems: SVN, CollabNet Teamforge, Hudson, Maven, EMC (Docato)
• Soft skills: Demonstrated ability to perform detail-oriented administrative tasks, analysis and reporting Demonstrated ability to research, plan and deliver solutions taking into account industry best practices, as well as business and technical requirements Exposure to marketing writing, business process documentation, technical writing and web communications Ability to manage several projects at a time
• Specific skills / other: Experience working in communities of practice or with social media technologies Ability to read/write in language(s) other than English Background in healthcare technologies or informatics. Knowledge of server class hardware (HP, Dell, Sun) an asset Database (Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server) knowledge an asset
