Talent-IT is looking for a Senior Software Engineer in Gent.
Degree:
Bachelor degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent through experience
Experience:
You have several years of hands-on development experience in Java Swing projects with significant size and complexity. Preferably, you have experience with and maybe even a passion for design applications or other graphical applications as well.
Languages:
English. Passive of German and/or French is an asset.
Soft skills:
You are a team player and you like having the freedom of solving problems independently. You are interested in the healthcare business. You feel confident in an agile working environment (e.g. SCRUM, Lean).
Technical skills:
Minimal: J2SE, Swing, Eclipse
Extra's: Other design technologies (Flex, Flash, etc.), scheduling domain knowledge, healthcare IT business, J2EE, JUnit, Maven, relational databases (Oracle) & JDBC, Subversion, OSGI, JBoss, profiling, SourceForge, Java Open Source technologies, Hudson.
Project:
You will be part of our Java development team that is working on the next generation scheduling solution (automated and optimised planning in hospital departments). You will become an important contributor in UI development and design and become part of a growing development team within a stable international company. You are agile and pragmatic, focused, cooperative, eager to learn and you like taking decisions. The job requires a high interest in UI design and technical / functional aspects of software development. Main responsibilities:
o Design key UI components of the application in collaboration with other software engineers and architects of your team
o Work closely with the product managers to determine the functional and technical needs of the product
o Work closely with the user interface team to help driving innovative ideas into implementation
o Take responsibility for your part of the application
o Contribute to our agile methodology
o Code with reuse in mind
o Integrated testing: functional testing, integration testing, unit testing
o Work closely with the verification team who create & execute tests, in addition to yours
