Context
Our client owns Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) as well as Asset Data Mgt systems that are used in processes used for the registration, management, maintenance and visualization of its assets. These systems require evolutive and corrective maintenance as well as regular 2nd level support. Besides, some important changes demand project-mode organization.
In this context, we are looking for a Functional Analyst & Release Coordinator (FARC) that will be in charge to manage those changes within a regular release mode that implies disciplined requirement analysis, prioritization, implementation & deployment.
This is the scope of this demand.
Responsibility
The responsibilities of the FARC are:
- As Functional Analyst:
- To understand and analyze business needs,
- In coordination with the business and the ICT GIS team leader, to organize the prioritisation and grouping of corrective & evolutive changes of a release,
- To analyze & document business processes,
- To produce & review functional system specifications,
- To produce & review business component interface specifications,
- To produce test scenarios to be used during user acceptance tests sessions,
- To respect and follow all templates & artefacts standards
- In coordination with the ICT GIS team leader, to take initiatives to organize the needed meetings with the business contacts.
- As Release Coordinator:
- To periodically report to the ICT GIS team leader,
- To organize and follow-up implementation using scrum-like agile techniques,
- To organize and follow-up ICT internal and user-acceptance test sessions,
- To operationally organize and follow-up the deployments to the production environment,
- To ensure the correct and timely update of the related change management tool data,
- To ensure that documentation is kept up to date,
- To respect defined priorities & timing,
- To respect the ICT processes and procedures used by the client.
Technical skills
We are requiring solid knowledge of:
- Unified Modelling Language (UML),
- Processes description techniques like Role Activity Diagrams, BPMN,...
- Intergraph GIS and asset data management solutions,
- Basic testing concepts and practices,
- Microsoft Office suite.
We are also considering knowledge of:
- UML tool Enterprise Architect (from Sparxsystems, see http://www.sparxsystems.eu/enterprisearchitect),
- ESRI GIS solutions, GE PipeView Integrity,
- Oracle Locator/Spatial.
Soft skills
We are demanding following soft skills:

Experience
At least proven 3 of the 5 latest years of:
- effective responsibility and achieved results in functional analysis (including effective requirements gathering & management),
- effective responsibility of coordination-like activities,
- Proven experience in engineering contexts of utilities sector (gas, electricity,...).
Languages
- Fluent speaking/writing in Dutch/French,
- Good English knowledge.
