Context
Our client is starting some important engineering-related projects where business analysis and more specifically requirements gathering & challenging are essential. In this context we are actively looking for an experienced business analyst (BA) being able to capture and structure business needs to requirements and to further translate those requirements to a high-level solution description.
This is the scope of this demand.

Responsibility
The responsibilities of the BA are:
 To discover, understand and analyze business needs,
 To challenge them against added value to our client and structure them into requirements,
 To further translate those requirements into high-level solution features,
 To enable the top-down and bottom-up traceability between business needs, requirements and solution features,
 To perform those activities in close collaboration with the project leader and functional analysts during the different stages
 Define high-level requirements part of the project request, the goal of which being to propose a high-level project idea
 Further detail requirements and associated solution scope in the Project Charter that defines the scope, budget, schedule and risks of the concerned project in order to submit it to the FGI for authorization,
 Manage the requirements during the Realizing stage,
 To ensure that all solutions proposals are discussed with, and, approved by the ICT Architecture Office that takes care of the vision and coherence of our applications landscape,
 To respect and follow all client templates and artefacts standards.
 To respect priorities and timing of the projects' plans.

Technical skills
We are requiring solid knowledge of:
 Unified Modelling Language (UML),
 Processes description techniques like Role Activity Diagrams, BPMN,...
 Requirements gathering techniques (knowledge of Agile Software Development ‘user stories' requirements elicitation technique is a real plus)
 Requirement sizing estimation techniques,
 Microsoft Office suite.

We are also considering knowledge of:
 Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) mainly Intergraph, Oracle Locator/Spatial and Esri,
 Testing concepts and practices.
 UML tool Enterprise Architect (from Sparxsystems, see http://www.sparxsystems.eu/enterprisearchitect)
 Project management practices

Experience
 At least proven 3 of the 5 latest years of:
 effective responsibility and achieved results in business analysis (including effective requirements gathering & management),
 Proven experience in engineering contexts of utilities sector (gas, electricity,...).
Languages
 Fluent speaking/writing in Dutch/French,
 Good English knowledge.
